20 March 2012: Fireside Chat - First Sea Lord , Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope GCB OBE ADC will be hosting our March Fireside Chat. As the First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff, a position he took up in July 2009, he is responsible to Secretary of State for the fighting effectiveness, efficiency and morale of the Naval Service.Join us at the Club to learn of his life and career.For full details please log into the member area. - 01 March 2012: 150th Anniversary Celebrations , Join us to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Naval & Military Club. The day will begin with a march around St James's Square followed by a delicious 4 course Victorian themed meal with a twist, in the presence of the Club's President, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. The celebrations will carry on into the night, with a magnificient party! A three course dinner with coffee will be accompanied by ten carefully selected dark spirits from around the globe. The hosts will share the fruits of their extensive research by talking through each in turn over the course of dinner. Based on new interviews with dozens of veterans, Sinclair McKay has written the first history of Bletchley Park from the point of view of the ordinary men and women who spent long hours minding deafening Bombe machines and decoding and translating intercepted messages. Fireside Chat - Sinclair McKay

This month's Fireside Chat will be hosted by Sinclair McKay, author of the recently published book: 'The Secret Life of Bletchley Park'.

Based on new interviews with dozens of veterans, Sinclair McKay has written the first history of Bletchley Park from the point of view of the ordinary men and women who spent long hours minding deafening Bombe machines and decoding and translating intercepted messages. The result; cracking Germany's 'Enigma' code!
