11 July 2012: 150th Anniversary BBQ, A magnificent barbeque will be held in the Courtyard for the second part of our anniversary celebrations. Enjoy a delicious two course dinner accompanied by the sounds of a jazz trio band, who will be performing throughout the night. During the evening, the life sized bronze goat commisioned by the Club will be unveiled; the sculptress, Jane Hamilton, will also be in attendance. Join us for this years Lunch, where we will be honouring The Battle of El Alamein. The speaker will be Peter Snow CBE, British television and radio presenter, and author of ‘To War with Wellington: From the Peninsula to Waterloo’.For full details please log into the member area. - 12 June 2012: Captain Scott Lecture, In remembrance of the 100th anniversary of the death of former Club Member, Captain Robert Falcon Scott, and in celebration of his last expeditions contribution to Antarctic science, we are delighted to welcome Elin Simonsson, Natural History Museum’s exhibition curator of ‘Scott’s Last Expedition’ to the Club.Elin, along with a Collection Specialist from the Museum will share with us stories from the expedition as well as the great scientific legacy left for the nation.
